GOOD OLD FASHIONED CUSTOMER SERVICE SKILLS AND CRAFTSMANSHIP
My step father was a carpenter and I loved being on site with him watching and helping him create something unique, practical but also special. He was old school, black coffee two sugars, John Laws ranting in the background on his old “wireless”, inches and feet, immaculate clean and sharp tools and toolkit, lots of humming to melodies as he hammered away in his short Stubbies… well you get the picture!
My siblings, four older sisters and my mother were all business women, entrepreneurs in customer service, hospitality and helping people in some way, shape or form. And the eldest sibling is my brother who is an expert within the glass industry and has been in glass for as long as I can remember.
These elements shaped me most except I left the Stubbies behind a long time ago! Though I still like a bit of, ‘old man radio’. I have travelled the World and lived in London for fourteen years where a little business model I dreamt up turned into one roller coaster ride that is too long to explain in this brief.
Needless to say, if you invite me to your home to do a repair I would be happy to share many a story of a life filled with love, action, romance and adventure.
Back in Sydney now for a few years and a good friend of the family Greg Borel had been repairing doors for fifteen plus years, I trained under his close watch before he retired and passed on all his knowledge to me.
Today, I take all my experience of running a business in London, my customer service skills and values along with the privilege of being taught by a couple of the best craftsmen and have created a business based on good old fashioned customer service skills and craftsmanship.
